These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website (renewablescapital.co.uk) and your engagement with our brokerage services. By using our site or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our site or services.
1. Our Regulatory Status
U.K. Carline Limited (trading as Renewables Capital) is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), FRN 657006. We act as a credit broker, not a lender, offering credit facilities from a limited panel of lenders. You can verify our permissions on the FCA Register.
2. Business-Only Services
Our services are intended exclusively for business and commercial customers (e.g., limited companies). We do not provide regulated consumer finance to individuals acting outside their trade, business, or profession.
3. Nature of Services
We provide finance brokerage services focused on renewable energy and asset-related equipment (e.g., solar PV, battery storage, energy-efficient equipment, and commercial vehicles). We assess your requirements and introduce suitable lenders from our panel. Any finance agreement you enter is between you and the lender; Renewables Capital is not a party to the credit agreement.
4. Commission and Fees
We typically receive a commission or introduction fee from the lender when a finance agreement completes. The amount or nature of this commission can be disclosed on request and/or within precontract documentation. In some cases, we may charge a brokerage or processing fee; if so, we will disclose and agree this with you in advance.
5. No Guarantee of Approval
All finance offers are subject to the lender’s eligibility and underwriting criteria (which may include credit searches and affordability assessments). We cannot guarantee approval, availability of finance, or specific terms.
6. Your Obligations
Provide accurate and complete information during enquiries and applications.
Use our website and services for lawful purposes, with proper authority to act on behalf of your business.
Carefully review the lender’s documentation and seek independent advice if needed before signing.
7. No Financial Advice
Information we provide is general in nature. We do not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Consider obtaining independent professional advice for significant commitments.
8. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our service, please see our Complaints Procedure. Eligible complainants may refer unresolved matters to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) within 6 months of our final response.
9. Data Protection
We process personal information in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy & Cookies Policy for details on how we handle your data and your rights.
10. Limitation of Liability
We will exercise reasonable care and skill. However, we are not liable for losses arising from acts, omissions, or decisions of third-party lenders. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other non-excludable matters.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Changes take effect upon posting on this page unless stated otherwise. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
